There were a lot of mistakes when trying to sort out the financial crisis but things are starting to level off now and the majority of the big countries out of a recession (some were quicker than others). What now needs to be done is to sort out the financial sectors and make sure that all money lent by the government is starting to pay back and lend mortgages to people that are realistic.

Let’s hope that 2010 is the year we keep our heads down pay for things we can afford (other than housing because that’s a long term investment) and pay the bills that we have to and make sure the banks don’t get into trouble again. If nothing bad happens it will be a good year.

the real estate investment trust could be a way to invest in property but only if you have sufficient money to invest into as you would be more likely to get a better return due to the taxing that is put. If you want to invest in the REIT consider what it can do for you before you put any money in investment as there might be other ways to invest and get a better return.
